I t fits. The poverty industrial complex is working overtime, and socialism is profitable. Gotta hit that market while you can - Trump is good for book sales. Just promise everyone free money, and one up the wokeness.

This branding opportunity won’t last forever, people. Grab it while you can or miss out on the quick money and fast celebrity.

The proposed budget with a one trillion dollar deficit is quite a bit of free money, no?

Free government money  is only socialism if it goes to the “wrong people”.

Just don’t lose sight of the fact that healthcare; even private healthcare; is a shared cost system. Most of us pick up the tab for a minority of people as the system is now. I would imagine me and my employers have paid maybe $70k or more towards my health insurance in the past ten years and I’ve used less than $10 k in care by my estimation(possibly much lower).

We all pay less when people are encouraged to get preventative visits, treat early, avoid the ER, and when costs are clear to the consumer .

The uninsured end up costing the system more; they delay treatment; seek ER visits; don’t pay and then hospitals raise rates on others. Get them insured, encourage preventative care, help them understand truly emergent conditions.

Sshhh, stop being so logical with reasoning like that! Next you’ll tell me that education is much the same way too – people without kids still pay property taxes that fund local schools. Some people spend the same amount of money going to college as others and do jobs that are equally if not more important to society, but are severely underpaid. We all benefit from a strong education system that releases well qualified engineers, doctors, teachers, scientists, accountants, lawyers, what have you, in order to be able to keep up and compete (yes, because that does happen) with other nations – instead of the current trend if it keeps continuing…what, only Koch descendants will be able to afford college tuition?

It’s almost like there are logical arguments for sharing some, if not all, of those costs. Tax rates in this country are at historic lows , while our investment in public services has been decimated (great combination!), and we hear talking points that make it sound like any of these proposals are new (hint – they played a big role in what made America, or at least portions of it, “great” in prior decades). And it’s not like there are peer nations out there that have higher taxes and provide stronger social safety nets – oh no, look at those bastions of unabashed communism (yes, I know the difference but the GOP doesn’t seem to anymore) all over Western Europe or even just north of our border, how evil!

But hey, massive subsidies to heartland farmers who bleed GOP to make up for lost earnings ( is it still pandering if it’s dollars and not words?) resulting from a self-inflicted trade war...nothing “socialist” about that at all, that’s just protecting our God-given Freedoms. USA! USA! USA!

Get out of here with your reasonable takes. Being reasonable is not allowed in politics ;)

Strange how it works in legit developed first world nations, eh?

Per capita expenses are fun, too.
